WSOP Online Series 2022 – Week 3
Three weeks of the 3rd annual World Series of Poker Online (WSOP-O), hosted by GGPoker; the world’s most prestigious poker tournament at the world’s biggest poker room have been completed. Last week, we left off the stories in suspense as Events #11 and #12 had not yet been completed. In addition to those 2 events, 6 more WSOP Online Bracelet events played through to completion including the FLIP & GO Invitation Only event.
There are only 4 more World Series of Poker Online Championship Bracelet events scheduled through the weekend, including the first ever Ladies Only No-Limit Hold’em Event #21, with Day 1’s for Event #23: PLOSSUS running multiple times every day. While we are talking about Day 1’s do not forget about the WSOP Online Main Event. With $20,000,000 Guaranteed for the record holding WSOP Online Championship event #33, this is one online poker tournament you do not want to miss. The next Day 1 is scheduled for Sunday September 11 at 14:30 UTC but if you miss that one, you will have to wait for the next week. The Guinness Record holding event will run its Final Day on Monday September 26th. Don’t miss out!
WSOP Bracelet Events
When we left you last week, Event #11 DOUBLE STACK Bounty was down to the final 45 players. The $400 ($180+ $200 + $20) buy-in event finally ended at 01:10 UTC on Sunday August 30, about 6 hours after the last update. The event ended when ‘Astor’ knocked out ‘Kasparas Klezys’ to claim the final bounty for a total of $106,562.52 and the World Series of Poker online bracelet.
Event #12: Super MILLION$ High Roller was on a break until 18:00 UTC on August 30, allowing the players to rest before starting the final table of this $10K buy-in Championship. All 9 of the final table players were set to earn over $100K with 3 of them just hours away from winning over half-a-million dollars as part of the $5,000,000 guaranteed WSOP Bracelet event. It took just under 3 hours for the final table to play to completion. In the end it was ‘David Yan’ who took the top prize of $985,564.95 and the bracelet while ‘Polkadot’ and ‘Daniele Sesta’ had to settle for 2nd and 3rd place worth $759,974.20 and $586,020,17 respectively.
Event #13 of the WSOP Online poker tournament series was the $1,500 buy-in, multiple start day, MILLIONAIRE MAKER. This World Series of Poker tournament guaranteed $5,000,000 including a top prize of $1,000,000. When the last of the Day 1’s had completed, a total of 3,833 players paid the buy-in creating a total prize pool of $6,706,050. Just 768 players survived to play on Day 2. It took over 8 hours to run the final day to completion and when the event concluded, it was ‘Markus Prinz’ beating ‘ZryjGruz’ for the top spot, the WSOP Online bracelet, and $1,188,097.78.
The next event on the schedule was the $2,500 buy-in Deepstack Championship NLH event #14. A total of 705 players joined the 2-day event to create a prize pool of $1,674,375. With the top prize of $246,494.75, and the top 4 all earning over $100K, everything was ready for an epic finale. When the last hand finished, it was ‘Alnaz Zhdanov’ taking the top spot and the World Series of Poker Championship bracelet. The runner-up ‘Noceur’ earned $187,273.41 for second place.
LUCKY SEVENS
Thursday September 1 saw Event #15: LUCKY SEVENS Bounty begin. This $777 ($368.15 + $370 + $38.85) buy-in 7-handed bounty event attracted 1,778 players creating a prize pool of $1,312,430.70. Like all of the World Series of Poker Online events, there was a break before the start of day 2 at 18:00 UTC on September 2. It took over 4.5 hours once day 2 started for a champion to be declared. When it finished, it was ‘Pete Chen’ earning the championship, the WSOP Online Bracelet, and the top prize of $116,246.59 including $62,247.59 in bounties.
Event # 16: Ultra Deepstack No-Limit Hold’em was the first WSOP Online bracelet tournament of the weekend. The $1,000 buy-in was attractive enough that 1,156 players joined the festivities as they worked towards winning one of the coveted bracelets. The $950 + $50 buy-in created a total prize pool of $1,098,200, enough that the top 2 finishers would earn over $100K each. When the final all-in played out, it was ‘FerdaBois’ defeating ‘PieOMy’ and earning $149,520.26 for the victory.
The BIG event of this weekend was Event #17: THE BIG 500 No-Limit Hold’em. The lower buy-in event hit the money spot for 3,141 players and created a prize pool of $1,491,975. Taking nearly 5 hours on day 2 to settle the event, it was ‘Vincente Delgado’ earning $174,497.12 and the WSOP Championship bracelet when he finally defeated ‘Picasso98’.
Monday September 6 saw the final day of Event #18: FLIP & GO No-Limit Hold’em play out. The GO stage of this event was populated by the 630 survivors from the 6,556 entrants of the multiple FLIP stages. The prize pool reached a total of $1,303,305 from the $100 buy-ins, well exceeding the $1 Million guaranteed. It took almost 6 hours for the final day to complete, but at the end it was ‘PAUPAU’ earning $143,247.49 and the WSOP online tournament championship bracelet when he defeated ‘akubleumas’ who earned $107,413.10 for second place.
Upcoming Events
This week continues with Event #19: Pot-Limit Omaha Championship which begins Tuesday September 6 at 14:00 UTC. This $5,000 buy-in event currently has just 40 players and could be one of the smallest player pools ever for a World Series of Poker Online bracelet.
Next on the schedule is Event #20: CRAZY EIGHTS Bounty 8-Handed. This event, is almost identical to the LUCKY SEVENS event #15 in every way but with 8’s in place of 7’s – it wll be played 8-handed and have a buy-in of $888 instead of 7-handed for a cost of $777. While there is no guarantee for this Thursday September 8th event, it is sure to be a crazy battle.
It’s Ladies Night
Big excitement to be had this weekend with the $500 buy-in Event #21: Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Championship. This is a first ever Ladies only event on GGPoker. While GGPoker has had Ladies-Only events in the past, this time, while non-female players can join and help build the prize pool, all non-female players will be kicked out before the start of Day 2 and have their chips removed from the poker tournament. Sunday September 11, the WSOP Online is hosting the $2,000,000 Guaranteed GGMasters High Roller Freezeout. This $1,050 buy-in bracelet event is scheduled to start at 17:00 UTC and already has dozens of direct satellite tournaments with guaranteed seats and buy-ins starting as low as $25. As big as Event #22 is, on Monday September 12, the colossal pot limit omaha tournament plays out it’s second day. Event #23: PLOSSUS is guaranteeing a prize pool of $1,000,000 for a tiny buy-in of $400. A minimum of 2 Day 1’s are scheduled for each day with multiple step satellites starting at $40 with guaranteed seats.
