The World Series of Poker is almost here at GGPoker, and you want to travel to participate online. You packed your bags and you’re prepared to take down the competition. So, what next?

Here is our guide for how residents in jurisdictions where GGPoker does not operate can travel and participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Can I travel from my ineligible country to another country to play in the WSOP at GGPoker?

Yes, you most certainly can!

As long as you are in a non-restricted jurisdiction while actually participating, then you’re good. For example, whether it’s a trip from the USA to Mexico or Canada — or to a valid European country from a restricted one, you will be able to play in the WSOP at GGPoker.

I’m a US citizen and I’m considering going to Canada/Mexico to play in the WSOP. As a US citizen, can I play in Canada/Mexico as a visitor without a permanent address?

Yes! This is a specific combination that we’d like to call out and clarify that it’s acceptable. Don’t worry, you’re more than welcome to join the party 🙂

What do I need to do, or to submit, to be able to play in this situation?

We will ask you to provide proof of presence in the accepted countries and a passport. We know that many players will have unique situations, and we will work with you to find the best way to prove your presence in the accepted country.

What are some examples of proof of presence?

Essentially, it’s evidence that you can provide which shows that you are in the stated region. Here is an example. A passport stamp with date from the custom (Passport should show front page and the stamp page simultaneously). We may request for further documents to check your location and your temporary residency.

How do I submit these documents?

You can upload them directly in the GGPoker app via the cashier, or email them as attachments to [email protected].

Is my money safe at GGPoker if I’m a US citizen?

Of course! We may require some documents for verification purposes, but, we can assure you that your funds will not be seized if you are participating legally.

If I win a bracelet, will you ship it to the USA even though I can’t legally play from there?

If you participated in the Events in the legitimate country and went back to your home country after playing, we will arrange your delivery to the address that you provide.

What are the tax implications if I win money outside my country?

The onus for tax payment is on the individual in that case. Please check up on your national rules on taxable incomes.

I am traveling from the USA. What payment methods will be available?

Bitcoin will be available, while other solutions are currently under review and in progress. You can also try the local deposit options available in the relevant country.

If I win a significant event during the period then return to a blocked jurisdiction, how will I withdraw my funds? Will GGPoker ensure I am eligible to receive cash and prizes won while based in an eligible region?

Yes. GGPoker’s cashiers will work directly with individuals to find the best options for cashing out large winnings.

Can I create my account in advance, or should I wait until I am situated in an eligible region?

No. You should not create a GGPoker account from a blocked country. Wait until you are in a non-blocked jurisdiction.

Aside from WSOP events, will my nationality prevent participation at other games types? Are there any games that I cannot play?

No. Once you’re physically in an eligible country, you have access to GGPoker’s full offering, including all cash games and tournaments.

I want three bullets in the main like Daniel said, why can I only deposit $5k per day?

Should you need higher limits, please go to the cashier and click “Increase Limit” in the Responsible Gaming setting. You will shortly receive a form to complete to increase your limit. We recommend you to increase your limit in advance, as it can take longer if there are many requests simultaneously.

I need to raise my deposit limits ahead of playing in WSOP events; what should I do?

Please KYC verify your account via the GGPoker cashier. The act of KYC verification will increase a user’s deposit limits to $20k per month, so make sure to verify your account as soon as possible.

If you need even higher limits specifically for the WSOP, just contact us at [email protected] and ask.

For very large increases, further due diligence may be required before limits are increased.

I have never used Bitcoin, why can’t I deposit via Debit/credit card?

Alternative payment options are currently being reviewed for addition for just this situation. Please understand that this is not an internal decline. Rather, the validity of your card depends on the issuing country. Unfortunately, some regions do not support online gaming transactions via card.

Why do I have to provide my real name during WSOP tournament registration? What are you going to do with my information?

GGPoker has worked hard to stay true to the WSOP’s heritage as the world’s leading live tournament series, and we actively want the WSOP Online Series final table experience to mimic that of a live tournament; no hiding behind aliases, you face your opponents openly and by revealing your real name, you’re joining a WSOP tradition stretching back to 1970.

Anyone making a WSOP bracelet event final table will play under their real name (in place of their GGPoker nickname), while the real names for all cash prize winners in WSOP bracelet events will be made available following the conclusion of the tournament.

GGPoker will not share your information otherwise, and all your details remain confidential.

Is deal making permitted at a WSOP bracelet event final table?

No. Deals are not permitted when a bracelet is at stake.

I’m based in a country where play at GGPoker is not permitted; what can I do?

We cannot bend the rules regarding accepted jurisdictions during the WSOP, but if you are willing to relocate to an accepted country, even on a temporary basis, we can accommodate you!

Is the WSOP Online Main Event a phased tournament, or do players play in flights until they qualify for Day 2 and at that point are frozen out of all other Day 1 flights?

Yes, players that make it to the end of a Day 1 with a stack can take part in additional Day 1s if they want to (and have not exceeded the maximum number of re-entries). However, if a player finishes multiple Day 1s with chips, only the highest chip stack will go to Day 2 (this rule is universal for all WSOP Online phase events).

I can’t choose my country when attempting to register my account; is there any fix for this?

Typically, if a player is unable to select their country of residence from the list made available during the sign up process, GGPoker will be unable to accept them as a player and the individual will be unable to access GGPoker products and services. So if you cannot select your country, it is likely that you will be unable to create a GGPoker account.

What’s the policy on players winning multiple tickets to WSOP events?

If you win multiple WSOP event tickets, your unused tickets will be exchanged for T$ after the series is finished.

I have multiple WSOP satellite and event tickets, all different values. Can I combine them in order to register for a higher buy-in event?

No, this is not possible at present.

I have WSOP tickets; when do they expire?

You can check the expiration date of any tickets in your account by logging into the GGPoker app and viewing your tickets in the My Page > Balance Status window. The expiration date of each ticket is clearly displayed.

I want to sell some of my action for a WSOP Online event; what is the maximum amount I can sell via the integrated staking feature? If I sell more than 50% of my action and win the event, do I still get the WSOP bracelet?

You can sell up to 90% of your action in any GGPoker tournament. No matter how much you sell – even if you offer 90% and it is bought by a single backer – if you win a WSOP Online event, the bracelet (and the glory!) is yours alone.

Why are there no mixed game events in the WSOP Online schedule?

Some traditional WSOP event game variants have not yet been developed at GGPoker.

Celebrities Join GGPoker & WSOP To Raise Money For COVID-19 Relief

Each entry fee to “Event #33: Every 1 for COVID Relief” to benefit Caesars team members across the U.S.

A host of sports stars and celebrities will join the worldwide poker playing community on Sunday, July 19 to raise funds to benefit those impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency. Some of those already registered for “Event #33: Every 1 for COVID Relief”, part of the WSOP Online 2020 tournament series hosted at GGPoker, include boxers Riddick Bowe & Jason Quigley, former tennis world number one Boris Becker, mixed martial artists Elias Theodorou & Patrick Côté, Brazilian actor Leo Lins, poker luminaries Antanas ‘Tony G’ Guoga & Kevin Martin, as well as GGPoker’s own brand ambassadors Fedor ‘CrownUpGuy’ Holz, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier & Felipe ‘Mojave’ Ramos. Other participants will be announced on GGPoker social media channels in the coming days.

With each player entry, a total of $111 will be donated by GGPoker to the Caesars Cares assistance fund, which supports Caesars Entertainment team members across the U.S. who have suffered unanticipated hardships, including during the closure of Caesars Entertainment’s properties as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

The flagship World Series of Poker (WSOP) live poker tournament in Las Vegas was postponed due to the public health emergency and as a result, an online series of events is currently taking place at GGPoker through September 6. In total, 54 WSOP bracelets will be claimed in GGPoker’s WSOP Online 2020 series, with millions in cash prizes also up for grabs. The tournaments at GGPoker mark the first time that players located outside the U.S. have been able to compete for official WSOP bracelets online.

Over $350,000 Donated By International Poker Players & GGPoker To Caesars Cares Relief Fund

GGPoker adds to $257,853 raised in WSOP Online 2020 poker tournament

GGPoker today announces that $257,853 was raised by the worldwide poker community via “Event #34: Every 1 for COVID Relief”, one of the poker tournaments in its WSOP Online 2020 series. GGPoker pledged a further $96,903, resulting in a total donation of $354,756 to Caesars Cares.

The tournament attracted 2,323 participants, who each donated $111 of their buy-in to the Caesars Cares assistance fund; this fund supports Caesars Entertainment team members across the U.S. who have suffered unanticipated hardships as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
