Our Contribution in the Fight Against COVID-19: $100,000
We’re stronger together as we fight the COVID-19 global pandemic. Our Toronto-based marketing arm – NSUS Group – partnered up with Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation to contribute to their UHN (University Health Network) Emergency COVID-19 Fund.
GGPoker players raised $50,000 via the High Roller Week online poker tournament series. This amount was matched by NSUS Group for a total donation of $100,000.
The donation will help UHN:
- Facilitate critical clinical trials
- Support frontline staff providing care to the wider Toronto community
- Put together a team of international experts to focus on finding rapid solutions to the global COVID-19 pandemic
- Cater to more number of Canadians impacted by the virus
The poker industry is known for such philanthropic efforts and we’re glad we stepped up together and delivered in such a quick time frame.

GGPoker and WSOP Collaborate on WSOP Super Circuit Online Series
GGPoker and World Series of Poker (WSOP) today announced they have signed an agreement to see the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series debut on the global-facing GGPoker Network.
The online poker tournament series will consist of hundreds of individual events. A coveted World Series of Poker Circuit ring will be awarded to the winner of 18 headline WSOP Super Circuit Online Series tournaments. As is customary with offline WSOP Circuit Events, the WSOP Circuit Online Series will also extend two invitations to the $1,000,000 freeroll World Series of Poker Global Casino Championship official bracelet event, one to the Main Event winner and one to the overall series points leader.
Tournaments will begin in early May and continue for approximately three weeks. A full tournament schedule will be announced soon.
WSOP Circuit tournaments were first held in 2005, and the launch of the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series is the latest evolution for the poker tournament series, one of the world’s most recognizable and best-regarded.
The move online to GGPoker means that many more players from across the globe will get in on the thrilling WSOP Circuit action, all from the comfort and safety of their own homes. GGPoker players will also be able to qualify for WSOP Super Circuit events via satellite tournaments, ensuring a shot at big prizes and WSOP glory for a potentially low buy-in.

WSOP Super Circuit Online Series Update – Ring Events #1 & #2
Sunday was the biggest day in the history of GGPoker
First, GGPoker hit a major milestone yesterday. We are proud to have hosted 100,000+ players simultaneously – the most ever on GGPoker. It also made us the busiest online poker room on the planet yesterday!
Second, we kicked off our historic $100M GTD WSOPC with two massive events.
Our community supported us in epic fashion yesterday. Thank you to all 100,000+ of you! Here are the details.
GGPoker was THE place to be seen on Sunday
A host of poker royalty, celebrities and poker pros turned out in force for last night’s $1M GTD Event #1 COVID-19 Charity Ring Event.
Just a few of the stars to grace the Event #1 virtual felt were:
- Russian tennis star Yevgeny Kafelnikov
- High Stakes pro turned MMA fighter Terence Chan
- MMA star Elias Theodorou
- Trailer Park Boys’ Sam Losco
The rather delightful Marle Cordeiro’s ‘British’ poker-playing alter-ego ‘Marnie’ was entertaining the poker Twitcherati in her own inimitable style as she bidded for a gold ring, and, of course we’d be remiss not to mention Team GGPoker’s very own Felipe ‘Mojave’ Ramos, tennis legend Boris Becker and new Team GG new boys Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and Fedor Holz.
ElkY and Holz were looking to add to the WSOP Bracelet apiece they already own by taking down a Circuit Ring Event (or two). Meanwhile, Ramos, who already has a WSOP-C gold ring to his name, was looking to add to his tally, and official WSOP Super Circuit Online Ambassador, Boris Becker, had his first WSOP title in his sights.
But, alas, it wasn’t to be for Team GGPoker on this occasion.
$1M GTD Event #1 Covid-19 Charity Ring Event
When registrations were all said and done an astonishing 1,595 players had ponied up the $1,111 buy-in to take their shot WSOP glory, generating a gargantuan $1.6M prize pool, of which $111 was donated to Nevada Covid-19 Task Force. This meant an incredible $177,000+ was raised by the GGPoker community to help in the fight against Covid-19. Thank you!
After a bruising 13 hours of play, we were down to the final two players fighting it out for the coveted gold ring – ‘TheMadQueen’ representing Canada and ‘Igutu’ flying the flag for India.
After a short heads-up battle, TheMadQueen would emerge victorious by turning a straight in the final hand to leave Igutu needing one of three remaining 6’s in the deck to chop. With an 8 on the river, it wasn’t to be for Igutu and the first WSOP Super Circuit gold ring of the series and $269,000 went to Canada and TheMadQueen!
A massive congratulations to our first Champion TheMadQueen from everyone at GGPoker and our commiserations to Igutu – Good Game to both of you!
WSOP Super Circuit Ring Event 2: KICK-OFF 500K
A monstrous 28,291 players each shot a $50 bullet at Event #2 to generate a mammoth $1,330,000 prize pool. By the time Day 2 kicked off, 28,000 had been whittled down to 4,046 hungry poker players left gunning the gold ring.
With just over 9 hours of play on the clock and three tables remaining, Argentina’s ‘JuanMartinDelPotro54’ grabbed the chip lead and rode it all the way to the $137,120 first-place prize and the second WSOP gold ring of the series.
Honourable mentions also go to ‘jolen’ for a brilliant second place and a $97K score and ‘ValueForNuts’ taking home the bronze medal and a not too shabby $69,666 – Good Game!
WSOP Super Circuit Ring Event #3: Deepstack Bounty Hunters $500,000 GTD
With Events #1 and #2 done and dusted, all eyes are now on Tuesday, May 5 for the third ring event of the series – the Deepstack Bounty Hunters $500,000 GTD!
With half the buy-in going to the prize pool and the other half being placed on each player’s head as a bounty, expect the action to be intense late doors as players look to boost their overall winnings by claiming those big progressive knockout bounties.
It will be interesting to see how the dynamic between bounty amounts and the desire to go on and win the ring plays out, time will tell – just over 24 hours to be precise!

WSOP Super Circuit Online Series Update – Ring Events #3
The $100,000,000-guaranteed WSOP Super Circuit Online Series continued on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5, headlined by WSOPC Ring Event #3: Deepstack Bounty Hunters $500K GTD.
This event smashed its prize pool guarantee, with a bumper field of 3,669 entries generating a mouth-watering $733,800 in cash prizes. A total of 611 players made it to the money (with ImBackBaby knocked out in 615 place but scoring his buy-in back as a result of Bubble Protection!)
Final Table Action & Results
Each player at the final table was guaranteed a minimum of $3,088 in addition to whatever they claimed in bounties, but the bulk of the prizes of course were reserved for the top three finishers, and so the event’s fiercest battles were seen at this point.
The UK’s own ArchieAndrews was knocked out in third place, taking home a total of $35,617.28 between bounties and tournament prize. The resulting heads-up confrontation went back and forth between Brtz and PetitFoxx, and a deal was made to even out the prize jumps.
Regardless, it took a further 25 minutes before a winner was decided on; PetitFoxx eventually triumphing, taking down a total of $75,954.16, made up of $28,425.36 in bounties and $47,528.80 in tournament prize. Hopefully Brtz wasn’t too disappointed; his $52,813.21 easing any pain we suspect.

Asian Poker Tour 2020 Online Series Double Winner – readytoship!
Two APT Titles In A Single Day
It’s rare to win a single major title, so imagine how much rarer it is to ship two in the same tournament series on the same day!
Enter GGPoker legend readytoship. He first bested 235 players in APT Event #18, a $100 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament, claiming a winners’ prize of $4,239.44.
